Band History: Formed in early 2006 in some shape or form, and originally called 'Minotaur Monolith' the cosmic doom metal band 'Tomb King' rose like a crippled black phoenix from the ashes of the Retro Psych-Rock Band Still River. Morbidus Extremis Necrosis, the charismatic bassist of that band (Who then went under the name of 'Dambuster') wanted to pursue more extreme musical avenues which his old band would not allow him to do. Despite, or perhaps because of, his efforts at hardening their sound, they acrimoniously split in early 2007, allowing him and the band's drummer to focus on their old project. Bringing in Stoner Rock guitarist 'The Wanderer' who they found playing to the cosmic powers in an ethereal glade, and well known local vokillist 'The Black Shah, who has sung in Folk and Electro bands like 'The Pregnant Rapists' and 'Jet of Blood' under numerous pseudonyms, they began jamming and soon a doomy desert sound was born in a smoky shack in the wilderness of Norfolk. Morbidus, pleased with the new psychedelic evil his band were peddling, decided to raise it all up a notch and went into creative overdrive, creating numerous riffs while the Shah scripted plenty of cosmic lyrics that combined to create spiritual musical excellence. Gently stepping in the footsteps of the doom gods, Cathedral and Electric Wizard, Tomb King brings a new space rock element to doom, bringing it kicking and screaming into the new milennium. Doom on.
